How to get to the Hotel Tambor Tropical

  • By Plane:

    A new facility is a short walk from the international airport. Direct flights operate daily from San Jose to Tambor on both Sansa Airlines and Green Airways. The flight takes less than 30 minutes. Requiring prior notice, our staff provides a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport (a short seven-mile drive).

  • By Car:

    From San Jose, the new highway to Puntarenas takes from 90-minutes to two hours. From there, be prepared to catch the ferry to Paquera. The Paquera ferry takes about 75 minutes, and you likely need to wait for it in Puntarenas. Please check the ferry website schedule. We recommend using the Naviera Tambor ferry both to and from Paquera since it is closer to Tambor and the road is paved.

  • By Bus:

    We recommend sharing shuttle services with Interbus. In addition, Transportes Cobano operates two daily busses from San Jose to Cobano with a stop in Tambor. Including the ferry ride, the trip takes about four hours.
